Journey to the Center of The Earth

by sweetladyjane @ Saturday, Jul. 12, 2008 - 15:28:34

Last night I decided to stay home from work and entertain my son. We went to the movies, his choice.

This movie is certainly good enough if you are looking for some adventure and you don't want it to be too intense for kids. It is Brendan Frasier doing what he does best and writers who really churned out something less than extraordinary. There are some good special effects and enough scenes involving heights to make me close my eyes a couple of times.

We both enjoyed it though later laughed about all the things that really didn't make sense(who cares) and the scenes that were downright stupid.(Frasier beating up giant venus fly trap plants)

It's a great movie for kids if they like this sort of thing and parents will enjoy it too. Just don't go on Friday night and pay top $$ for admission like I did.

It's also on 3DMax so should be good watching it that way...:) Glad though you enjoyed it even if daft in parts...I loved Brendan Foster in the Mummy...he's got another one coming out soon...our son thinks they're rubbish but they're light and funny and sometimes that's all you want...great big hugs...XXX

Brendan Fraser IS good in the mummy, but I don't think I laughed as much as when I saw George of the Jungle. But maybe that's because I was younger. But that film was funny.

If there's silly scenes in Journey to the Centre of the Earth, at least it's not serious like The Core. God that film was abysmal.

HLOL...seen George of the Jungle twice now...and we thought it was hilarious...Brendan Fraser is very funny...lovely light viewing...don't think I'll bother to go to the cinema to see Journey to the Centre of the Earth but will watch it when it comes on Sky...great big hugs...XX

Yeah, Fraser was great in the Mummy. Does he live up to that in this one? Or is it a little unfair to compare them?
